Matches in real time
Every match runs minute by minute and lasts ninety real minutes. Follow the action as it happens, change tactics and make substitutions while the match is on.
Tactics in two phases
Choose one shape and set of roles for when you have the ball and another for when you do not, then tune tempo, width, pressing and set pieces.
Squads with real depth
Every player has dozens of attributes, positions he can play, a contract and a wage. Scouts narrow the range on players you do not own.
A new market every day
Fresh players go to auction every day. Bid with coins, watch the clock and use the soft close to your advantage.

Real money only ever buys coins. There are no random player packs or loot boxes: players come from auctions and your academy.

Your league plays a round every day. Sign in at kick-off to follow every chance, card and goal in real time.
Questions managers ask
- Is Tunnelside free to play?
- Yes. You can create a club, play in a league and use every feature without paying. Coins can be bought if you want to bid in auctions faster, but they are never required.
- Do I need to download anything?
- No. Tunnelside runs in the browser of your phone, tablet or computer. There is nothing to install.
- Are the players real?
- No. Every player name, face and set of attributes is generated, so no real person is depicted.
- How long does a match last?
- A league match is ninety real minutes long plus a half-time break. Cup matches can go to extra time and penalties.
- Do nations play each other too?
- Yes. The Nations Cup is a knockout between the eight strongest nations, each managed by the computer. A nation calls up its best players from the clubs of the game, but never a player whose club is playing at the same time, so your own matches always come first.
- Can I buy players or player packs?
- No. Real money only buys coins. Players are signed through the daily auction market and from your academy. There are no randomised packs.
- What happens if I am away during a match?
- Your assistant manager plays to your tactics and makes substitutions as you have set them, so your club is never left unmanaged.
